This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am grateful that I have healthy eyes and great vision. However, I am worried about my eyes because I spent many of my times in front of my computer. I am afraid I would have eye or vision problems in the future.

My husband wears eyeglasses and he is always irritated. Almost all of my cousins are wearing eyeglasses and lenses. As a matter of fact, they have considered iLasik for laser vision correction. Now their visions have already been improved.

I am planning to call my cousin Jeremy and tell about this iLASIK Video Contest. She could join this contest since she was iLasik patient before. The “You Gotta See This” Video Contest invites anyone to make video showing how life is more valuable with great vision. Abbott Medical Optics Inc. Japanese Akoya Pearls Sold To Factories

Japanese Akoya pearls are sold only to factories, not to retailers. Farms in Japan sell pearls only to factories, unlike pearl farms in China. These pearls are polished, bleached, matched and drilled. Factories will buy pearls from numerous sources to create finished hanks of pearls. The factories are able to make a handsome profit with a mix of 80% Chinese and 20% Japanese.

Akoya’s Are Not All Japanese Akoya Pearls

When I saw the name Akoya pearl, I thought it was made in Japan. Now, I know that Akoya’s are not all Japanese Akoya Pearl. In fact they are actually Chinese cultured pearls. Then, consumers should not believed or trust pearl sellers claiming that they are selling 100% Japanese Akoya pearls.

Pearls from China

I bought my Akoya pearls from China. We all know that China has a strong supplies of Chinese Akoya pearls. Factories in Japan are now increasingly turning to China as their main pearl source because of the high price of Japanese materials and the low price of Chinese materials. The pearls are imported from China into Japan, processed, and placed on temporary strands, which are then tagged "Made in Japan".

Japanese Akoya Pearls

Japanese Akoya Pearls is often used as a misnomer to describe cultured akoya pearls. However, this is no longer an industry accepted term as akoya pearls are now grown in China, South Korea, Vietnam and Australia.

Recently I am fascinated of collecting pearl jewelries. As a matter of fact I have bought a new Akoya pearl necklace and an earring. This Christmas holiday I wished I could receive a Japanese Akoya Pearl ring.

Fruit Salad

We all know that there are many different fruits to choose from, thus the possibilities really are endless when it comes to putting together a fruit salad.

I like fruit salad aside from macaroni salad. Fruit salad is a great way for kids to get vitamins and nutrients they need. I let my daughter to choose which varieties she would like to see join forces in their bowl, then I top with a dollop of yogurt and nuts and/or granola for a little protein.

Here’s a recipe for my favorite fruit salad:

INGREDIENTS:
1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
1 pound seedless green grapes, halved
3 bananas, peeled and sliced
1 (8 ounce) container strawberry yogurt

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large bowl, toss together strawberries, grapes, bananas, and strawberry yogurt. Serve immediately.

Japanese Steak

I love eating steak. The image below is what we ate when I was in Japan last year. Beef is a luxury; it is used sparingly and for special occasions in Japan. This steak is teriyaki style, which means teriyaki is all in the marinade. Teriyaki marinade contains soy sauce, ginger, sugar and Sake or Mirin. This marinade can also be used on most any meat.

How to make sure that the steak will taste good? Take the steak you are going to grill and make 1/4 inch slices into the surface of the meat at a 45-degree angle on both sides in order to get the most from the marinade. Why this is needed? This will allow the flavor to get deep into the meat. Cut across the grain to increase the tenderness of the meat. Cut down on the time you need to marinate. After that, place the steak in the marinade and refrigerate for 2 hours. Then it is ready to cook on a hot grill.

Discover Swiss "Pearls"

Located in central Europe, Switzerland is known as the land of the Alps. Bordered by the great bulk of the Alps on the south and by the Jura Mountains on the northwest, the country is composed most of mountainous plateau, together with waterfalls, rivers and lakes set amid green pastures.

Approximately 50,000km of trails lead through all kinds of terrain in this spectacularly beautiful country. And hiking is the national passion in Switzerland. Mountain sports that are well practiced in the country include climbing, ice climbing, ski touring, snow boarding, deep-snow skiing, heli-skiing and glacier walking. There is also 3300 km of well-marked interlinked trails, most of which offer easy cycling. Good thing there are bicycles that can be hired at most railway stations and at many other locations. Aside from hiking, mountain sports, and cycling, lakes such as Lake Geneva, Lugano, and Neuchâtel offer sailing, water-skiing and canoeing.

I, myself, wanted to experience skiing in one of the ski resorts in Geneva. Key Swiss resorts here include the pretty traditional village of Champéry, and the tranquil purpose-built mini resorts of Champoussin and Les Crosets. Boat trip is also nice activity to do in Geneva.

I also wanted to go to the elegant shops, nightclubs, restaurants, fine museums and art galleries in Geneva. What is traveling without having a taste of a country cuisine. I will definitely taste some at the Hotel Waldhaus and learn about the hotel history for gourmets at the Flims. They serve seven courses with seven different wines during this tour at this 132 year old hotel.

Why don’t you Discover Swiss "Pearls" also. If you were given the chance to go to Switzerland, what do you want to do? Where do you want to go? Experience medieval papermaking?

Cast your own bells?

Make cheese in Ticino?

There are many things to do in Switzerland. I, myself, would love to visit the country!

Nutritional Tofu

Tofu is one of my favorite viands. Well, it is known for its extraordinary nutritional benefits, as well as its versatility. Below is an image of tofu viand I have ordered at my favorite restaurant in Japan.

Soya curd, as known by some, is made by curdling soya milk with a coagulant. There are three types of tofu. The firm tofu is dense and can be cubed and stir-fried, grilled, scrambled, pickled, smoked, baked, barbecued or served in soups. This tofu is high in protein fats and calcium. The soft tofu is more suited for recipes in which tofu needs to be blended. Lastly, the silken tofu has a creamy structure and is also used in blended dishes.

Tofu For Me

Here I have ordered this healthy meal from my favorite restaurant in Japan. I have been fascinated with tofu these days. I have learned that tofu is rich in nutrients. Tofu is rich in both high quality protein and B-vitamins. It is an excellent substitute for meat in many vegetarian recipes. Aside from that tofu contains a lot of calcium, which originates from the coagulant. The soy proteins are precipitated with calcium, providing tofu with a ready source of calcium, when making tofu. And this calcium contributes to the prevention of osteoporosis.

Aside from the nutrients we got from tofu, it is also easy to digest. How? The soybean’s fiber is removed during the manufacturing process. Furthermore, tofu reduces cholesterol. It reduces heart disease by lowering the level of the "bad" LDL cholesterol, and as the result maintaining the level of "good" HDL cholesterol.

Website Hosting

I know how hard to choose a web host especially these days that there are many available web hosts. And I believed that choosing the best web hosting service is the most crucial decisions. Well, you will not face many problems if you have chosen a popular or well known and reliable Internet Service Provider (ISP). On the other hand, you will have a nightmare if you have chosen a poor web hosting service provider.

In order to choose the right kind of website hosting service, we need to check some features of a web hosting service. First is to check the amount of web space. A web hosting service provider would usually assign you a certain amount of space on their server. Just check whether you have the right amount of space for your website and your business requirements. Second is to determine FTP access, which provides the ability to upload new pages. Third is to check the degree of reliability, security, and speed of access. These are important for the success of any online business. Fourth consideration is to determine dependence and support. Furthermore, check pricing plans as well as data transfer capability. For more details, read from WebHostingGeeks blog, which has many articles about website hosting.

If you are looking for a new web hosting service, visit WebHostingGeeks website. Check out independent reviews of the best web hosting providers. Find cheap professional web hosting services under $10 a month; all webhosting plans include at least one free domain name registration and 30 day money back guarantee.

Fats Found In Chocolates

The question is doesn’t chocolate have a lot of fat too? Well, some of the fats in chocolates do not have impact on our cholesterol! Indeed, there are 1/3 oleic acid, 1/3 stearic acid and 1/3 palmitic acid in chocolates.

Here are some information about these fats. The oleic acid is a healthy monounsaturated fat that is also found in olive oil. The stearic acid is a saturated fat. Although it is a saturated fat, it has a neutral effect on cholesterol, based on a recent research. On the other hand, the Palmitic acid is a saturated fat which raises cholesterol and heart disease risk.

Have you tried eating these ice creams, like abalone (shellfish), basashi (raw horse meat), brown rice, cherry blossom, curry, charcoal, chicken wings, deep sea water, dried kelp (seaweed), garlic, goat, lettuce, natto (fermented soy beans), noodle, oyster, persimmon, potato, red wine, sesame, shark fin, spinach, stout (beer), tulip, wasabi, whale, and wheat?

Tempura

Do you like crispy Tempura? Tempura is usually termed for the popular Japanese dish of deep fried battered meats, seafood, or vegetables. Shown below is my favorite tempura, deep fried seafood!

Well, it is not so hard to make delicious tempura at home. As a matter of fact, you can easily found all the ingredients at your grocery stores.

Here I want to share the basic steps for cooking tempura:

1. You must first prepare the ingredients you prefer like vegetable, seafood, banana or anything you like.
2. Make the tempura batter.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 340-350F degree.
4. Lightly dip ingredients in batter and immediately fry them until crisp. Take note that it takes longer to fry vegetables than to fry seafood.
5. Drain tempura on a rack.
6. Serve right away with tempura dipping sauce, which is called tentsuyu, or salt.

Remember that tempura is best served when hot.

Traveler’s Checks in Canada

Today in the age of ATMs, traveler’s checks are becoming more and more obsolete. Still, they may come in handy as a backup. Traveler’s checks issued in Canadian dollars are generally treated like cash by businesses. Traveler’s checks in most other currencies must be exchanged for Canadian dollars at a bank or foreign currency office. Just make sure that for lost or stolen checks call the issuer.

Credit Cards in Canada

In Canada, major credit cards such as MasterCard, Visa and American Express are widely accepted.

Without these cards, you will find it hard or impossible to rent a car, book a room or order tickets over the phone. However, note that some credit card companies charge a ‘transaction fee’ (around 3% of whatever you purchased); so you must check with your provider to avoid surprises. Always carry copies of your credit card numbers separately from the cards and immediately report lost or stolen cards.

When To Go to Canada

Well you can visit Canada at any time of year. However, reports say that most people arrive in summer when temperatures are pleasant and much of the action moves outdoors. In southern Canada, it generally refers to the period between Victoria Day and Labour Day. In the northern regions, however, summer starts as late as mid-June and ends, often abruptly, with the first snowfall in early to mid-September.

Moreover, March to May and September to October bring fewer tourists and often surprisingly pleasant weather. Fall, which finds forests cloaked in a spectacular mantle of color, is a great time to visit. On the other hand, Canadian winters are long, cold and dark. Your explorations are pretty much limited to the ski resorts and cities. Québec City, Toronto and Winnipeg are among those cities hosting big winter carnivals.

Culture of Canada

Historically, the culture of Canada is influenced by British, French, and Aboriginal cultures and traditions. It has also been influenced heavily by American culture because of its proximity and migration between the two countries. Indeed the majority of English speaking immigrants to Canada were Americans. American media and entertainment are popular in English Canada. Moreover, Canadian culture has also been greatly influenced by immigration from all over the world.

The official national sports in Canada are hockey in the winter and lacrosse in the summer. Hockey is a national pastime and the most popular spectator sport in the country. Other popular spectator sports include curling and football. Golf, baseball, skiing, soccer, volleyball, and basketball are widely played at youth and amateur levels.

The Economy of Canada

We all know that Canada is one the world's wealthiest nations. And it is the growth of the manufacturing, mining and service sectors that has transformed the nation from a largely rural economy into one primarily industrial and urban. The country is one of the world's most important suppliers of agricultural products, one of the most important suppliers of wheat, canola and other grains. Furthermore, Canada is a good producer of zinc and uranium and a world leader in many other natural resources such as gold, nickel, aluminum, and lead.

Canada’s Geography

In Canada, there are many active volcanoes like Mount Meager, Mount Garibaldi, Mount Cayley and the Mount Edziza. Thus, you can experience many earthquakes in the country. Therefore, the country is geologically active. Record states that the volcanic eruption of Tseax Cone in 1775 caused a catastrophic disaster, killing 2,000 Nisga'a people and the destruction of their village in the Nass River valley of northern British Columbia; the eruption produced a 22.5 km (14 mi) lava flow and according to legend of the Nisga'a people, it blocked the flow of the Nass River.

Weather in Canada

The climate in Canada varies depending on the location. In many regions of the country especially in the interior and Prairie provinces, a winter is harsh. The regions may experience daily average temperatures near −15 °C (5 °F) and can drop below −40 °C (−40 °F) with severe wind chills. More in the north of Canada particularly in non- coastal regions, snow can cover the ground almost six months of the year. However the coastal British Columbia can enjoy a temperate climate with a mild and rainy winter.

Moreover, the east and west coast experiences average temperatures in the low 20s °C (70s °F). Between the coasts the average summer high temperature ranges from 25 to 30 °C (75 to 85 °F) with occasional extreme heat in some interior locations exceeding 40 °C (104 °F).

Discovering Canada

I want to discover about this country because I want to live there someday.
Extending from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean, Canada is occupying most of northern North America. Canada is a bilingual and multicultural country. English and French are the official languages both at the federal level and in the province of New Brunswick.

I know Canada is industrialized and is technologically advanced. It has abundant resources where it maintains a diversified economy. Canada is a federation composed of ten provinces and three territories; in turn, these may be grouped into regions. Western Canada consists of British Columbia and the three Prairie provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). Central Canada consists of Quebec and Ontario. Atlantic Canada consists of the three Maritime Provinces (New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia), along with Newfoundland and Labrador. Eastern Canada refers to Central Canada and Atlantic Canada together. Three territories (Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut) make up Northern Canada. Provinces have more autonomy than territories. Each has its own provincial or territorial symbols.
